-Ingrown Hair Treatments

Ingrown hairs are usually formed by waxing, plucking, threading and epilation. This type of hair starts growing inside the skin when the hairs are broken off beneath the skin. These cause small red swellings on the skin and causes skin irritation and rashes. A hydroxybenzoic acid or salicylic acid solution is used to act as an exfoliant and treat ingrown follicles, while a small sterilized needle is used to takeout the hairs.

-Sugaring

It is very much similar to waxing. A sticky paste is used to substitute the wax and the process of removing the hair is just the same.

-Epilators

These are mechanical tweezers fixed in a row and it grabs the hairs and pulls them out rapidly. It is like a high-tech version of plucking.

-Depilation

It is the removal of the hair by trimming using electric shavers or manual shavers, and by shaving. Shaving creams or powders are used as another way of depilation. It chemically dissolves the hair and leaves a smooth skin.

Hair Growth Inhibitor Treatment

A doctor prescribes medicines for facial and oral use; an enzyme drug known as Epiladerm-Complex is prescribed. This drug inhibits or halts the growth of new hair cells, slowly reducing its growth and finally stops it. Another known enzyme drug is the Vaniga; the active ingredient is Eflornithine hydrochloride, which also inhibits an enzyme called Ornithine decarboxylase, which also stops the new hair cells from growing.

Laser Hair Removal Treatment

This treatment targets the hair follicles and destroys them and avoids damaging the skin. It may be an expensive and painful treatment but it is worth it when it is done without flaw by a qualified practitioner. This treatment is very suitable for those who have fair complexion. The laser targets the pigmented hair follicles.

Banned or Experimental Hair Removal Treatment

This type of method is very hazardous or dangerous to your health which causes health problems, skin blemishes or even death. Photodynamic therapy and X-ray are two of examples. It is a medical use initially used to treat cancers but now it is being used as a hair removal technique.
